We have different IEC61850 Clients (HMI and GTW) are Microsoft Windows Applications.
But we have Conflict for Network Name Rules b/w IEC61850 standards & Microsoft windows.
As per IEC61850 standard only special character '_'(underscores) is allowed but in Windows we have restriction.
As per IEC61850 standard we have restriction for '-' (hyphens) but in windows this special character is allowed.
As part of Cybersecurity (Active directory domain for RBAC ) most of the customers expect to follow Microsoft windows Network name rules.
But we have limitation with IEC61850 standards.
Proposal
We should maintain common Network name rules for both IEC61850 and Microsoft windows.

This is a configuration issue, if anything.
If LDnames are needed to have DNS entry they can be configured without underscores.
